Blogging...Do What You Want With it!!!

So over the last month or so my opinion of blogging has changed a bit.
Am I alone here or what?

You see, the whole reason I started this blog wasn't to document my life (which is the reason most people start their blogs). It is all about being a creative outlet for me!

There's nothing I love more than reading a great blog that gives detailed DIY posts, delicious recipes, tutorials on how to do a sock bun, etc.....I love it all!

That's what I always wanted to do with this space....share the things I've created and tried (and also test out my graphic design skills).

Lately I have felt like there are many unwritten rules in blog land and we all try to follow them...but when we do we lose sight of what we're all really doing here......which is doing whatever the hell we want!!!

So I've officially decided to not follow the rules.
I don't need to post every day just to fill space and seem relevant...no no no....that is making this seem more like work than fun.

I'm going to post what I want when I feel like it!

Capiche?

I don't know about you all....but my life just isn't exciting enough to post something every day....

That being said.... I DO have a few decent (in my opinion) posts lined up for you all.

Who's excited??

Let's just say I've been channeling a mix of Martha Stewart, Tony Horton and Rachel Zoe lately and it's going to tickle your fancy:)

Adios Amigas!

  1. A freaking men! Seriously so sick of petty stuff & you don't follow me so I'm not following you. & everyone's gotta be a fashion/food blogger! I have barely posted all march & sometimes it feels good! You said it perfectly. :)

  2. Love it! I sometimes post a ton or not at all. It's whatever I feel is relevant to my life and my moments. Can't wait for the MArtha Stewart to come out!

  4. Amen! I am not a good blogger! I blog every now and then, because I have a life and a family and can't spend every minute in front of the computer! I can barely keep up with the blogs I do read much less get a post out. Just be you! Your blog is you!

  5. I agree so much with this! Some days, i'm just too busy, tired or lazy to blog. And most days... my life just isn't that exciting. I think its totally fine to be a blogger when YOU want to be one! The people that enjoy your blog will read whenever you have new posts!

  6. I couldn't agree more girl! Too many bloggers get caught up in the "rules" that they lose sight of the real reason they started blogging. I admit, I was one of them for awhile, but recently realized that if I spend too much time trying to force blog, then all I'm doing is wasting time where I could be doing fun, creative things that I could actually legit blog about! Ha!

  7. Haha ain't nobody got time fo dat! I find that I either have too much to say or nothing to say and fall into ruts every once in a while. It's our own little space on the internet, so we can do with it what we wish ;)

  8. Blog rules? What? What are those? Haha I apparently missed out on that memo! I prefer to post what I want when I want!! Can't wait to see your projects!!

  9. I've never followed the unwritten blog rules. If I did I would not have a blog. I'm not creative or crafty.
I agree blogging everyday is not necessary.

  13. I am on the no rules train!! I used to try to post everyday, but like you said... Ain't nobody got time for that, especially if you have nothing to say.I stopped trying to keep up a long time ago. I just think of it as people would much rather read what I have to say one day a week and it be a good post, than a silly, irrelevant one every day.

  14. I try to only post when I have something to say or document, and I know right now there are probably things on my blog that don't interest certain readers and I'm ok with that. I want to document my life for me!
I try not to follow any of those "blog rules", there are some bloggers out there who have decided that blogging needs to be a certain way and they tend to try to push it on all bloggers.

  16. You go girl ;) I totally agree. I blog when I want to blog, not every day just so people I can keep my follower count up. And apparently I haven't visited your page in awhile, which seems strange, but I LOVE the new design :)

  17. I've been struggling with that lately too! For a while, I was on a ball, but the past few weeks have been hectic and I've felt bad for letting the blog fall to the wayside, but then I realized that I shouldn't feel bad bc that's just where it needs to be right now and that's ok! I want to post good quality material, but sometimes I don't have the time to do so, so instead of worrying about getting a post up every day, whether it's good quality or not, I'm trying to take a step back, enjoy blogging, enjoy the relationships and the reading and commenting, and post as I'm able! :) Thanks for sharing!

  18. There is a new news video I found that reminds me of good ol sweet josie! And I feel you. I have never been much of a person for sharing my feelings but that is why I started the blog. To talk my thoughts out and keep track of all my foodie cravings and if I throw my life in there too well so be it!

  19. Good for you! I started my blog to document my life but it has turned into more that that. But I still do what I want when I want! Ha! I really don't care about followers or being "famous" or anything like that. It would just seem like work if I was always trying to write to gain more followers. I look forward to seeing what you have in store.

  20. Good! I love that you're going with what you want to do (and when you want to do it) rather than following the unspoken rules!!

I do the same...write what i want when i want & how i want. Gah!

Sponsorships? Daily blogging? You said it perfectly: ain't nobody got time fo that! LOL
