Happy Hour Link Up Rehearsal Dinner Dresses!

Happy Thursday, Friends!!

Today I am linking up with my girl Jenn for Thirsty Thursday Happy Hour! Basically I'm going to share with you all what I would probably discuss with my girls over a typical happy hour....

Today's discussion....Rehearsal Dinner Dresses!

I need your advice! Do I wear white? Do I wear something bright and summery since our rehearsal is on June 21st? Do I wear something business casual?
Keep in mind that we are getting married in a garden, not in a church, but that my minister will be there....so nothing too racy:)

Also - we are following our rehearsal dinner with a cocktail party downtown where all of our out of town guests will meet.....how does one choose the perfect dress for such a fun night?? Hmmmmmm

Here are my inspirations from Pinterest...

  1. I like the third dress, both of the yellow ones, and maybe the red/pink one (the last one). I think they would all be appropriate!
    Thanks for linking up!!

  2. I love both of the lace ones, the white with sleeves and the yellow! I think lace can be conservative but at the same time sexy and perfect for wedding festivities! :) Nordstrom has a really cute dress section with a lot of dresses under $100!

  4. Both of those yellow ones are adorable!! I'm torn on the "white at the rehearsal dinner" thing. I know it's super common, and before I was even engaged I had always thought I'd do it, but I read a blog (East Side Bride- super sassy, to the point, wedding advice/style) and she made a point that kind of stuck with me: why would you want to wear white the day before you wear the MOST IMPORTANT white, of your life? doesn't it kind of "take away" from the white the next day? That being said, as a personal choice, I think I'd just go with a cute cocktail dress for the rehearsal. Make em wait to see me in the white ;-)

(Even taking into account my ramble: I do love that white lacey dress with the long sleeves! if you don't feel the same way about white at the rehearsal that is ;-) haha)

  5. I did not wear a white dress to our rehearsal. Not that I was against it. I actually had a white dress picked out at first, but thought it was a little too short for church. I think if you do find a white/cream dress you like to maybe wear some fun color accessories. A yellow dress would also be nice. I wouldn't do anything to loud and overly bright, but that's just me! Good luck!!! :)

  6. I would go with a fun color not white. Especially since you're doing this in June. I love the lacy look though!

  8. i wore white to my rehearsal dinner, well winter white. I think you wear what you feel comfortable in and shows your personality. It's your wedding and no one else. Love the white lace ones... if you do white i would say do fun shoes and jewelry. No matter what you wear you will look gorgeous.

  11. I vote for the red one or the one shoulder black, white & gray one. Spice it up a bit :) You would rock any of them though, I'm sure!

  14. I really like the yellow one with the belt. I think with your hair it would look really pretty. I wore a dress and a cardigan at my wedding rehearsel. Cute, comfortable and classy!!

  15. I like the last white one you posted. I would wear white since you're the bride. I plan on wearing white to my shower and the rehearsal when those days come :). Plus, I love any opportunity to wear white dresses, skirts or pants and since your dinner is in June that is a great time to wear white! Although after you posted the yellow dresses I do think that is a cute idea too, especially since that is your color.

By the way, I totally went out right away and bought that island coconut coffee and I am in LOVE. So glad you posted about that!!

  17. I totally agree about not wearing white for your rehearsal. Just think, you're going to be in it all day the very next day, so why not go for some color?! I wore a bright blue dress and was so glad I did! I love that red dress, it is so gorgeous and fun!

  18. I love the lace! I love the idea of wearing a short white delicate lace dress for the rehearsal dinner! :)

  19. I'd opt for something colorful!! Some of those white dresses are a wee bit short in my opinion, you want to look really polished, not like showing to much leg and such :)

  20. You will look good in anything you wear. NO business casual. Wear a pretty dress. You are the bride. I like the yellow dresses.

  26. I just got married recently and I say go white! Your are the bride and that is the one color that no one else will show up in and makes you unique! :) If you go bright, you can bet that someone else might have on the same color and you don't want that! This is all about you and your future hubby! Take advantage of it! :) and best of luck these last few weeks leading up to the big day! Try and relax and take it all in and remember this is a big day, but it is not the biggest day of your life. Every day after will be more important than the one before because you are beginning a wonderful journey and becoming one with your best friend! :)

  27. These are all great options for a rehearsal dinner dress! It is very important that you are comfortable with what you are wearing. Try to relax while waiting for the big day. All concerns like sudden wedding gown alterations OC (for example) can be addressed accordingly. Surely, a lot of brides-to-be are feeling the same way, but all you have to do is be calm and remain beautiful.
